WAKE UP FROM THE EGO

When the Consciousness identifies with a form, the Ego appears. The Ego always means some sort of an identification, self-determination (I am a man, I am a father, I am an Englishman, I am Christian etc.) The Ego therefore rests upon our identification with things that are important for us ego. If I am able to answer the question, ”What is important for me?” I am in the state of identification with the forms and shapes.

This state of Consciousness is always restrictive and exclusive. Identification is always preceded by a process of selection: this thing–this form–is important for me, whereas that one is not. We usually choose the forms and shapes that we find beautiful, good and valuable, since these are expected to make us beautiful, good and valuable people. Selection always comes hand in hand with anxiety and fear that we may loose what is important for us and, together with those things, we may loose ourselves.

The process of identification does not stop just because we have become spiritual helpers.  But now different things are becoming important for us, for instance the extended state of Consciousness or the experience of the astral projection. At that state of Consciousness, we identify with these experiences, these are the factors that are important for us, they provide the identity of our spiritual Ego. Nothing has really changed, apart from the forms and shapes we identify with.

Here are 14 Keys to the awakening from the state ofidentification with the forms and shapes of Consciousness

BREAK THE POWER OF FIXED CONDITIONED MENTAL PATERNS

The spiritual growth is usually prevented by the conditioned deep programming of the Mind. These programs place the development of the Ego in the foreground, and make efforts to sustain that development until the end of the life of the individual. The programmings support the progress of the Ego, they urge us to develop a powerful and efficient Ego for ourselves, and they make us believe that it is the ultimate goal in human life. These programmings regard any effort at suppressing the Ego as a sign of weakness that we should be ashamed of, and that we should avoid at any cost. The first gift of your conscious Alertness is when we discover, that instead of you, the deep-programs of your conditioned Mind are living our life. What need we know about this fixed conditioned mental patterns?

TRANSCEND THE SPIRITUAL EGO

During our spiritual Journey we accumulate a vast amount of knowledge of the world. From the books read, lectures heard and conversations had, we try to pick the useful and interesting bits of information, ideas, thoughts and theories. The same applies to experience.

We believe that if we gather a sufficient amount of information during our spiritual journey, we achieve something, we improve, we make  progress.

All the knowledge and experience collected, however, improves the contents of the mind, that is, a part of the spiritual Ego.

EXPERIENCE THE MAGIC OF THE NOW

It has happened to all of us that we came under the spell of a moment some time during our life. A beautiful landscape, a sunset, a beautiful piece of art, or the rhythm of music enchanted us. It may even happen that we are just lost in the silence of a peaceful moment. Why is this moment so enchanting, what is its secret?

WHEN THE MASSIVE CREATURE BEGINS TO SOAR

Meditation is a subtle, barely perceptible stream, in which you will experience a radical shift of the center of gravity.

The manifestation, limited in time and space, thick and heavy, that you have formerly regarded as yourself, changes into a weightless but ubiquitous point without limits and dimensions.

The massive creature, bound to the earth that used to be you, is now free from its bonds and begins to soar.

THE EGO IS A FRAUD

The Ego is the central figure of our personal history, based upon the past and looking into the future. It is a dissatisfied, possessive small ego that often makes our life a misery. It is for certain that this small ego–or, more precisely, what we believe is our Self, our Ego–coiled up tightly in the back of our mind, is responsible for a tremendous amount of senseless and unnecessary suffering and destruction in the history of mankind.

On our spiritual Journey arises the question, how we transcend the Ego?

THE ONLY EXISTING SELF

"The Ego calls itself real and the only existing ”Self,” though it is nothing more than a conceptual product, the continually changing content of the space of Consciousness." /Key 22. /

YOU LIVE IN A SEPARATE WORLD

„The less alert you are, and the deeper you submerge into your dreams, the more isolated, solitary and individualistic you will become. Every sleeper–including you–has a separate world, only those who exist in the state of Alertness have a common, shared reality.
All those different and separate worlds are created by the mind, which generates the state of separateness: the Ego, which appears as the focus of our identification with our thoughts and emotions.
Thus everybody has a separate identity, personal history, individual world view and methods of action. Sometimes suffering alarms you from your sleep, but then you hasten to return to it, and start a new dream, a new objective in life, new ideals, passion, ambition that confirms your connection with your identity, rooted in your personal history.” Frank M. THE RECOGNITION OF THE ROAD SIGNS

„It is important that the spiritual Seekers should recognize and notice the road signs that the awakened, seeing Masters have left behind for them in order to lead them out of trouble.
A few aspects that may help the spiritual Seeker to recognize the signposts:
An awakened teacher only teaches freedom, urging the spiritual Seeker to wake up, to be free of the mind, the Ego, the world,  customs and traditions etc..
An awakened teacher never provides methods for the spiritual progress of a spiritual Seeker as he is aware all these methods boosts the Ego-dominated mind and deepens the conditioned state of the individual.
An awakened teacher can only be your lighthouse, casting light on your path, but you must understand it and walk your own path.
An awakened teacher never joins the expectations of the Ego and mind, so he will not be anyone the spiritual Seeker images him to be.” Frank M. Wanderer

ELIMINATING MIND GAMES

„Consciousness is an indispensable condition for us to recognize the Ego and reach Awakening on our Journey. Otherwise it is not possible to observe ourselves. The witnessing, observing Presence should always be there.

The mind will never understand anything that reaches beyond it. But it tries. In this way, though, it will explain everything from the separate aspect that it currently occupies in the time-space continuity.

When one is able to reach beyond that separate focus point and identification with the mind, that the person will also recognize this conditioned state and will also be able to reach beyond that, too. In that case, the individual will not identify with the mind, but increasingly with the Consciousness (Witnessing Presence). The Presence will gain dominance over the mind to an increasing extent, and will be expressed through the mind.” Frank M. YOU DREAM THAT YOU ARE AWAKE

"What is the evidence for me that you are now asleep, and as a citizen of a dreamland you dream that you are awake?

First, that you are not present. To be present means that you are fully alert, attentive, and conscious in the present moment. Whatever you do, you do that fully consciously, you focus your entire attention on that particular activity. Or, do you feel free to declare that you are present in every moment of your life?

The case with you (and with the majority of people) is that you are not awake in the sense described above. You are careless most of the time, as a large segment of your attention is bound by dealing with events of your thoughts, events of past and plans for future and your own self.

Psychological time therefore displaces the moment of the present, or subordinates it to past or future. You therefore perform the overwhelming majority of your daily activities mechanically. Your attention only becomes more intensive when you meet someone or deal with something who or that you find interesting, or useful in some way. Or the opposite: the person or thing may do harm to you in some way." Frank M. Wanderer

WAKE UP CALL

"Consciousness, which has been sound asleep under the spell of identification with the forms and shapes for thousands of years, is slowly waking up in our days. There is an increasingly powerful alarming impulse, and the number of people sensitive to the wake up call is getting bigger and bigger.

The effects of this impulse, waking us up from our dream of identification with the forms and shapes is felt by everybody, sometimes even several times a day. But many of us are unaware of what we actually experience; all we feel is that successes achievable in the world are less and less attractive for us. We recognize that behind earthly successes and failures there has to be something deeper, something more profound in our life." Frank M. Wanderer

THE FLOWER OF BUDDHA

"Pick a flower you particularly like and place it so that you can focus your attention easily on it.

Smile. When you are smiling, the muscles of your face relax, your resistance against the current moment ceases, and you become open and accepting. Loosen up, watch your breathing, how the air passes in and out through your nostrils.

While you are monitoring your breathing, share the rest of your attention with the world. Pay attention to yourself, your breathing and gently scan the flower with your look. Notice its graceful stem, the gentle arches of the leaves, the soft shapes of the petals.

Discover the variety of the colors and shades – let the flower cast a spell on you. Realize, that it is really nothing else, than another manifestation of life with its unmatched and unique beauty. Let the observation of the flower absorb you but do not forget about paying attention to your breathing. Observe the flower without feeling any pressure." Ervin K. Kery

CREATE AND REST IN YORSELF!

"When you need to do something that requires your creativity, then thoroughly study the details and when you feel your mind is “fed” with the information, retreat into silent, observing consciousness.

Let your mind build the overall picture in your unconscious, let it sculpture and paint it – let it work it out. When the desire to act overcomes you again, when you feel that it is time to intervene in the events, then ask this question with full consciousness: What do I have to do? – and wait for ideas to emerge from your, which are born in the creative, intelligent space of consciousness. Consciously do what you have to do with full attention, then retire to the silent yourself for an inspiring recharge, then if you have some more to do, do it.

Your life will become a pulsing between creative outbursts and peaceful contemplations.

This is when you live a life, in which you know-feel the depth of existence: “Yes, I am. I exist. I am
thankful!”  Ervin K. Kery
